Right now there is a new reality show in production and the first shows are viable on the internet as a pre launch promo.

This is a very funny and entertaining show from Israel produced and directed by a new immigrant family from the UK who have been in volved in broadcasting for many years. it is shot in HD and is designed to give you an insight to life in Israel and also how they are seeking to learn Hebrew which in my opinion is no easy task!!

Everyone I have shared the link with also agree this is one brave family first to move to Israel and second to take on the whole Israeli culture well done for there outstanding efforts. It is a show that is different in many ways to a language learning experience as they are looking at what there daily needs are and how they respond to these needs not giving in but working darn hard to interact.

For us couch potatoes and those just looking to have a good laugh you have got to watch the behind the scenes ans keep up with the action Scottish humour is coming alive, the blond mom ans welsh daughter are very entertaining and dont forget to see the Jack Russell dog Joey this is no ordinary family and they are not doing things the conventional way at all.

A LOT OF LAUGH’S GUARANTEED our your mouse back!!!!!

Television shows for your computer

In terms of cost, almost all online television is free, using the traditional concept of advertisements and banner ads to make their money. The US ABC recently announced they will make their shows available to view online the day after they have aired on television, for free. The only catch is that the commercials scattered amongst the shows will be unable to be paused. These commercials will also be limited in number – probably only three, being one minute in length each – and will be all from the same advertiser, no doubt maximizing their effect on the audience watching. You can see how this idea is increasingly appealing to businesses that can afford this type of major bulk advertising.

But the development hasn’t stopped there. ‘Social television’ is the newest kid on the block, merging the concept of online television with the online phenomenon that is social media. In a nutshell, it’s TV services that involve viewers’ communication. We can now watch our favourite television programs online, whilst interacting with others doing the same – making recommendations, critiquing, chatting, and blogging with each other. It’s adding one more thing to the long list of ‘togetherness’ that the Internet is creating. Obviously we have always ‘socialized’ around the concept of TV, even with the simplest form of discussing shows with friends – but the new idea here is television will now be an active practice rather than a passive one. You can comment on shows, review your favourites – basically interact with the world around you whilst enjoying your TV experience. And in a world that seems to be enjoying online and social media with gusto, this would appear to be a concept that is ready to take off.

People watch an average of two hours a day watching television. And more than a million people search the internet everyday; you can finally combine both of them. You will easily be able to watch television from anywhere in the world; by just having your laptop with you.

You will never be charged any extra costs or charged for anything more. If a company attempts to charge you for upgrades; then you should definitely run as far away as possible. Initially there will be limited number of movies and programs that are 3DTV viewable. The number of movies should increase as time goes on.

As for the cost, in general the 3D TV‘s cost anywhere from $600 to $900 more than regular TV’s of the same size viewing screen. As with any new product, the initial price is higher. The longer they are on the market, the more the price will lower.

Ups and Downs Of New Reality TV

1

Posted on : 30-Sep-2010 | By : Jim | In : Reality TV

it’s not like reality TV started from the top and plummeted downhill. It was more like a low up to a high, and then down to an all time low. Early reality TV show contestants revealed that what was televised was significantly different than what had actually occurred, and to this day it’s a situation that probably still occurs. However, some new reality TV shows that came after were less contrived and even inspirational. There’s no denying the skills of contestants on America’s Got Talent or America’s Best Dance Crew, and it is moving to see where these people are coming from and how they are coming closer to achieving their dreams.

Maybe part of the reason new reality TV isn’t feeling so new is because many of them are just sequels of series that have been airing way past the first season. And reality TV has taken an extremely dark, ugly turn with the recent controversy of Jon and Kate Plus 8, rumored to become Kate Plus 8.

Wipeout is a Blast

I was watching wipeout last night with my son. I sure is nice to have a program where I don’t have to cover his eyes or ears because of some sexual situation or foul language. My father in law does not like the banter of the two Johns and actually mutes his TV when they are speaking. You might say that the violence of the contestants getting knocked around is bad for my child. My kid understands that the objects are padded and no body gets hurt. Could you imagine if they did. There would be no wipeout show, just lawsuits.

I really enjoy the big balls and the part where they have to select a door. Of course no matter what they choose they get hammered. There is no concern with excessive facial sweating as no one ever stays out of the water for long. My brother applied to get on the show but they had quite the waiting list.

Janey Cutler Britains Got Talent Super Star

Britains Got Talent last year was dominated by Scottish singer Susan Boyle and we all know how well she has done. This years its another Scot making the news on BGT Lanarkshire grandmother, 81 year old Janey Cutler. She stunned judges at her audition in Glasgow by belting out Non Je Ne Regrette Rien the well know Edith Piaf song. I just watched the her semi final this evening June 3rd and her performance was even more magnificent. She brought the house down with her version of Shirley Basseys ‘My Life’ and had a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and the audience.

Needless to say she sailed through getting a majority from the voting public. A very clever and original dancing duo, ‘Twist and Pulse’ join her and eight other acts in Saturdays final.

Janey Cutler has sang in the local pubs and clubs around her home in Scotland for years and this success has come very late for this elegant lady. That said nothing seems to phase her, and judging from the thousands of views she has had on You Tube since she ht the headlines she is going to have a hectic year.

Can she win the Britains Got Talent final this week? After tonight’s performance the odds are shortening fast and she is now a contender for the top spot.

Reality TV Casting Seems So Arbitrary

1

Posted on : 31-May-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Reality TV

Earlier this year, a friend of mine went on a casting call for a popular reality television show. She had tried out for it once before and was turned down, and this year, she had a great story about why she wanted and deserved to be on the show.

Unfortunately, she was not selected and was kind of upset about it. She did say that one of the former contestants was at the casting call and told her that she had tried out seven times before she was accepted, and it got me to thinking that reality TV casting seems so arbitrary.

I understand that the very nature of selecting the right group of people to be on a reality show is subjective and can always be second-guessed, but I do wonder if the people who make those decisions have any sort of criteria they have to follow and why they select some of the people they do.

I watch the show that my friend was trying to get on, and there are times when I wonder what they were thinking when they selected a particular cast member. I don’t know if reality TV casting is done by different groups of people who go to different parts of the country and have different ideas of what they are looking for, but sometimes I think they really got it wrong.

Maybe it is just the fact that I really wanted my friend to get on this particular show. She is a big fan, and has wanted to get on it for years. She finally got up the courage to go and try out last year and was turned down, and then was turned down a second time this year. I do wish that I could go to the people who are doing the reality TV casting and speak on behalf of my friend, telling them all of the reasons that she would be a good contestant.

That would just embarrass her, though, and they would probably think that I was a nutcase. I asked her why it was so important to her that she actually be a contestant on the show rather than just watch it from home, and she told me that she really believes in what it stands for and feels like she would be a good fit. The group that did the casting, however, did not agree.

The reality TV casting crew did get her down for a while, but the good news is that the is already back on the horse and making plans to try out next year. She said she has been working on some new angles to try to get on the show, and said she will never quit trying to get on the show. I admire her determination, but my concern would always be that, since they already turned me down twice, what makes me think they would ever want me to be on the show, period?

List of Reality TV Shows that Don’t Suck

1

Posted on : 12-May-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Reality TV

Let’s face it, Reality TV is generally horrible. MTV should change its name since it really does not show music videos anymore but instead has a long list of really bad reality shows like “Tool Academy”, “Bad Girl’s Club” and “From G’s to Gents” (which I actually like but still realize that it is horrible). Some of these bad shows are like watching a train wreck. It is hard sometimes to switch the stations. Other shows are so bad that they are easier to avoid like “The Karadashians” or “Real Housewives of Orange County” or “Jersey Shore”. Some shows are not even worth mentioning such as “The Surrreal World” and “I Love New York”.

But some reality TV is still compelling and the following titles are on my list of reality tv shows that don’t suck.

One of the best reality shows of all time is still “Survivor”. No matter where they dump off these people we are fascinated to watch as they live off of rice and fish (or sometimes bats and rats like James did with relish) for thirty days straight. The infighting is still real juicy and even after years the show still ranks high on the list of reality TV shows on the networks. When they go off to tribal council and someone gets blindsided, you realize that the trick is how the producers decide to edit the show. But as Eisenstein showed us many decades ago, every movie or TV show is created from whole cloth in the editing room.

Another in my short list of reality tv shows that don’t completely suck is the great and long running “American Idol”, which is arguably the best of the bunch. This is an amazing feat because in essence all it really is is a talent show with lots of production value and better contestants for the most part. The best part of the show each season is the very beginning when people line up for hours and hours to be heard by the panel. These “audition” shows are great because you get to hear the worst and funniest singing in the world. People are hilarious and it is because they are completely deluded. This is where you can see just how crazy the general public is and believe me, it is frightening. But, like bad karaoke, you can’t turn away from it or switch the channel. Once they get well into the show it usually becomes more boring, but the beginning is golden.

Although reality TV had been around in one form or another for many decades, it really gained momentum during the writer’s strike in the mid 1990s. The producers had to fill up air time and that gave us a few really good shows, and dozens more that were horrible beyond words. Let’s just hope that the writers stay on for a little while longer. On the other hand, I would much rather watch “Tila Tequila” than “CSI: Miami” any day of the week.

Watching TV Shows Online

1

Posted on : 17-Mar-2010 | By : Dalgetty | In : Careers, Music, Online TV, Reality TV, TV Shows

Many of your favorite prime time television shows are available to watch online on demand or as podcasts to your blackberry or iphone. In today’s hectic world it is sometimes next to impossible to set aside specific times to watch scheduled shows. There are other ways of watching these shows besides on your television and seeing TV shows online is one option that is becoming more and more popular.

As computers get faster and bandwidth increases more and more information can travel over cable or DSL lines or by satellite much faster. You can watch streaming movies on demand on sites like www.netflix.com or www.blockbuster.com. For smaller movies and tv shows online you can just go to www.youtube.com and do a search. Even Amazon has pay per view now with streaming video. Not all of your favorite television shows will be available there however. Sometimes you need to set up a log in account with the network that produces the show in order to watch it. You can also get pirated shows using an outlaw service such as torrent or limewire, but it is not recommended and you can get some seriously damaging viruses on your computer. It is not worth the risk and you should avoid these open file sharing sites.

American Idol is currently in Season 9 and is probably the most popular TV reality show currently on air.

There is one singer in particular who is standing out from the crowd, her name is Crystal Bowersox and she’s sure to get a recording contract even if she doesn’t win American Idol this year.

On Demand services are routinely offered free by most cable providers and satellite television companies including Comcast and Astound. Not all programs are available however and even free television networks like NBC charge a small fee to watch your favorite shows. In comparison you will not get as good an image watching tv shows online but you will save money. Again, not all shows are available online.

If you are traveling to a foreign country you may not be able to download or watch your favorite tv shows online by going to the network sites. Pirating is so prevalent in many countries that networks and studios do not allow streaming video to go out on their broadband.

TV shows online can also mean sports programming and there are several sites where you have to pay a fee like a season pass in order to watch your favorite sports teams. This can be great if you are Los Angeles Lakers fan, for example, and you are travelling all the time but still want to see their games every day. Special NFL, NBA, NHL and MLB packages are available for those specific sports tv shows online. They are not cheap however so be prepared to pay up or else miss a lot of games. This is just not acceptable to truly devoted fans and most will pay whatever it takes to watch their games on a consistent basis.

If you don’t want to miss your favorite programs you don’t have to anymore, not with tv shows online and other on demand packages available. You can also just record the shows and watch them later on our TIVO.
Whichever method that you choose everyone agrees that it is always good to have options.

What’s Good This Season on TV

Posted on : 10-Mar-2010 | By : admin | In : Reality TV, TV Shows

TV is pretty good in the Winter/Spring of 2010.

Survivor Heroes and Villains is pretty good! I must admit some of those has beens are fun to watch!

Lost – the Fianl Season is excellent! First rate and complicated but fun!

Starz has a hit on it’s hands with Sparticus Blood and Sand. My chick friend thinks it’s a guy thing – but I say if you can look past the violence and sex it is a brilliantly written show that pushes all the right buttons. Best new show of 2010!

American Idol – sorry but it sucks big time! Ellen is a liability and dragging it down.

Are The American Idol Contestants As Good This Season?

1

Posted on : 06-Mar-2010 | By : Dalgetty | In : Music, Reality TV, TV Shows, TV Stars

I’m not sure that they are as good this year in American Idol Season 9.

In past years, I’ve always been able to pick out a few potential winners, but some of the contestants seem to be quite weak and I’m not sure how they made it past the audition stages!

One girl I really, really like though is Crystal Bowersox. She’s a natural performer and does NOT put on airs and graces like potential pop artists often do.

Michelle Delamor was also very good I’m really surprised she has been voted off already! Very often it just comes down to song choice alone and if the contestant makes a bad choice, they don’t get another chance such as John Park who has also been voted off, he has a GREAT voice but I don’t feel the song was right for him.

A good place to keep up with extra news and gossip from American Idol Season 9 is on American Idol Live where there are personal comments left by people and you can get a good idea of who is being supported the most.

It’s always great to watch Simon Cowell in action, you can guarantee that he will always say it like it is and Ellen DeGeneres is doing a good job, another straight speaker who will give good , honest advice to the contestants.
