Dealing with the Cable and Internet Providers When They Raise Prices on You behind Your Back

0

Posted on : 30-Jul-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Cable

Ever since Fox came out demanding that Time Warner pay it subscriber fees for distributing its channels, we’ve known that Time Warner’s services were going to begin to cost more. This is about the time that any negotiating skills you may have would really work to your advantage. The more you’re able to negotiate with your cable Internet providers, the more reasonable your bill is going to look at the end of the month.

When I moved to a new apartment in the suburbs three months ago, just about the first thing I ever did, was to look up the cable and Internet providers in the area to decide on which one to get. I quickly decided on Comcast, and signed up. I didn’t want to miss any American Idol episodes. I asked around a little, and found out that Comcast’s best offer at the time was a $126 package with taxes; I got two set-top boxes with all the premium channels, and I got my high-speed Internet. Things seems to be affordable, and they seemed to cost exactly what I wanted; I congratulated myself on a job well done.

The bills came each month, I paid, and things went smoothly for about six months. That’s when the bill arrived one day, and I saw that I was in for a rude shock. My package didn’t cost $126 a month anymore – it cost about $210. It was the same cable, it was the same Internet, but it cost about $84 more. Needless to say, I was on the phone to Comcast in about 3 seconds, nervously tapping my foot to get past the infernal Muzak to speak to a real live human. The real live human told me that I hadn’t paid attention to a little detail when I had signed my deal. I had an introductory offer which was only good for six months. He had me take out my contract, and had me notice the little x6 written next to where the price was mentioned.

There are lots of consumer websites out there that are crying murder over this kind of unfair trade practice. Check out Complaints Board, or Ripoff Report, and you will understand. So how do you get the upper hand on these cable and Internet providers when they switch and bait like professional con artists? A good way to begin negotiating would be to call your provider and say you have a better deal with a rival company – and you will switch, unless. Alternatively, you can just go right ahead and downgrade your service, and sign up for Netflix. When I did this, I got my price whittled down to $150 a month, but with fewer channels.

Most people have had similar experiences; calling the downgrade and disconnect department at the cable and Internet provider’s toll-free number is that the best place to start. The economy is kind of low now, and the people manning the phone at these departments have instructions to do everything possible to keep a customer. Apparently, promotional offers that end a couple of months after you sign up are completely common. It is our responsibility to keep track of when they expire. If you call in time, you can save yourself an expensive price increase.

Glowing Review LCD TV Magazines Print

0

Posted on : 28-Jul-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Televisions

Plasmas always find themselves in the unenviable position of having to hang behind in the shadow of the popularity of the LCD in flatscreen sales. But there is nothing here that wouldn’t appeal to the intuition. LCDs are the popular format for the smaller sizes, and they are sometimes cheaper. The consumer public isn’t known to be dependable when it comes to picking quality over other considerations. Look at any review LCD TV testers come up with in any consumer electronics magazine, and you’ll see how they sound a little doubtful about the actual quality of the visual experience. The basic LCD experience has seen every kind of improvement over the last five years – poor viewing angles? They have a fix for that; poor response times? 5 ms of peers to completely remove the problem; a wide palette of colors? New processing engines go quite away there. The fixes are there – even if they aren’t perfect. But given the choice, people will always choose convenience over hard-core base quality.

Displaymate technologies, the company that’s made a reputation for itself devising innovative tests to gauge the quality of computer screens, says in a company report that as far as the Bravia 3 Engine or anything else made go towards taming the disobedient LCD technology we have, it still routinely falls behind plasmas in basic quality tests. The test that they used to come to these conclusions was pretty thorough if you ask me. They lined up the best LCD TVs from the houses of Sony, Sharp and Samsung, and pitted them against the best that the largest manufacturer of plasmas in the world, Panasonic, could come up with. This wasn’t a battle of the brands though; it was a battle of technologies. And they were trying to find out how reliable any review LCD magazine shootouts come out with can be.

So when an advertisement for a top-of-the-line LCD TV boasts of dynamic backlight, dynamic color, and essentially dynamic everything, are they really doing a good job improving the picture the LCD screen puts out? Or are they just trying to hide the flaws from us with meaningless marketing hype? The report is unequivocal – none of these LCD technologies actually does anything but the best of a bad job; and they produce image artifacts that anyone can easily notice in the process. The worst thing about LCDs, even if they do boast of 170° viewing angles, and even if every review LCD TV reports put out claim as much, picture colors and brightness can lose their integrity that moment you set even a foot off-center. The technologies they’ve used simply have improved viewing angle, but only so far as to make them at least picture watchable.

A plasma on the other hand has always been, and still is a technology that is directly perfectly viewable from a wide 45° angle. There’s just no comparing them; even if LCDs have the best picture quality when viewed dead-center, what use is that in a home situation? As for the kind of brightness and contrast levels that any review, LCD buying guides put out, those are simply unusable figures. Either the manufacturers put out untruths, or the magazines do. Any marketingspeak you hear, extended color technology or anything, is just unusable gimmickry.

Quality purists are really disappointed that plasmas appear to have lost the battle of the flat screens. The only place that an LCD would make sense would be where you’d have to do your viewing in very brightly lit situations. For everything else, a plasma wins hands down unless you want to speak of an LED-backlit TV.

BillShrink – A New Service that Promises to Hunt Down the Cheapest Cable and Internet Plan You Can Get

0

Posted on : 26-Jul-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Cable

If you always resented the kind of cash you have to pay for cable and Internet service, and if you’ve always wondered if you’re getting the best deal for your needs, there is help at hand. Help, comes in the form of the bill comparison site, BillShrink. What it does is, it helps you compare what each cable and Internet service in your area costs, and arrives at the best choice for your needs.

Here’s what you do. You go to BillShrink’s website, and key in your home address. The page asks you for the name of your current cable and Internet provider, and it asks you how much you pay. It also needs you to provide information about the kind of channels you’re most interested in subscribing to – movies, game shows, music or anything else. You prioritize your picks to show BillShrink what is negotiable, and what isn’t. It asks you about what kind of TVs you have around your home, HDTV or anything else, it asks you about your credit rating, and requests information about how long you’d be willing to sign the contract, for a discounted rate.

BillShrink isn’t new to this whole deal; it already runs a pretty popular service for cell phone contracts and credit cards. With all the information you give it, it’ll find out which among all the providers in your area will give you all the channels you want, at the price you want them. It automatically calculates the price of the best package for you with each provider, it works in any special promotional schemes there may exist at the moment, and then you have your list of cable and Internet package choices ranked by how much they’ll cost you.

BillShrink has all nine provider companies on its database; you will usually see prices for Time Warner, Cablevision, Cox, Charter, Comcast, DirecTV and Dish Network, Verizon and AT&T. Their cable and Internet bill service hasn’t been around long, but it’s already their top-billed service. People love the feeling that here’s someone who stands up for them against the cable and Internet providers.

BillShrink gets a commission from the cable TV service, if you sign up to switch services based on what it recommends. The company uses only publicly available information on the web to bring you its service though, and it can sometimes be wrong. The reason it can be wrong is that it can only gather publicly available information; it can’t get the kind of deal you would if you personally called up your cable Internet provider, and threatened to switch to another provider.

The service is still under development though, and there are constant improvements being made. Installation costs for instance are currently not included in their calculations. But they promise to work on this.

Alternative Radio in California

0

Posted on : 24-Jul-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Radio

Alternative Rock is leading the way among major genres of music, especially in the U.S., and more specifically on the West Coast and California. With bands pumping out the hits and fans lining up to buy their new releases, one can only anticipate future growth and strength from this truly innovative form of music. Alternative radio stations like KITS in San Francisco (105.3) and KROQ in Los Angeles (106.7) have long been the best choices for alternative music fans and anyone looking to hear great, cutting edge music.

Alternative Rock really took off as a style with bands like Simple Minds, R.E.M., Tears for Fears, the Psychedelic Furs, Midnight Oil, and other 80s and early 90s groups. Back then it was called “Modern Rock” and although the label has changed it is still basically the same type of music. Modern Rock was the musical answer to the long hair, stadium rock glam bands of the 80s. Fans of Modern Rock did not really know this, they just hated that whole pretentious scene and wanted something different, an “alternative” if you will. A whole new generation was ready for rock that made you think a little and was different than the same old, same old that had run into a rut and never got out.

Alternative radio is very big now and could have been even more popular had Satellite Radio proven successful. When Sat Radio began several years ago, hopes were high that it would eventually replace public, or Free Radio, but in the end that never happened. Though Satellite Radio still survives, it does not have the number of subscribers that they expected to pick up when Sirius signed up shock-jock talk radio star Howard Stern around five years ago. People just were not ready to fork out money to hear Stern scream obscenities that would have been bleeped on regular Free Radio. Sirius and rival XM merged last year but sales are still stagnant and it does not look like they will improve any time soon.

Satellite Radio promised tons of stations dedicated exclusively to different genres, including Alternative Rock. This form of Alternative Radio, had it been a hit, would have increased the exposure for Alternative Rock music and all the different kinds of sub-genres like Adult Alternative, Folk Alternative, etc. Unfortunately, Satellite Radio has yet to catch on and most experts think that at this point, after all of the marketing and millions of dollars spent, there is no real chance that the medium will grow very much. Still, proponents and subscribers swear by it and continue to buy stock. Perhaps the pundits will be proven wrong and we will see the advent of a new wave of Satellite Radio subscribers but the best bet is that some other form of alternative radio or medium will come along and re-invent the way that people listen to music. It has happened several times already when CDs replaced records and more recently when ipods replaced CD players. Who knows what the future will bring?

Television Advertising

Posted on : 23-Jul-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Commercials

Any small business can benefit from television advertising, but only if it is done right. The price is going to be an issue, of course, but the quality of your ad will make a huge difference too. A smart business owner knows to put some money into advertising, but they are not always sure what type. Local ads can really pay off, as you really gain nothing from national ads, and they cost way too much for the average new business owner. Use good talent, find the right stations, pick good target times for airing, and run your ad more than a few times.

Almost all stations in your area run national commercials. These are expense. However, you may have noticed that there are local ads on right after them. These are usually near the end of the commercial run right before the show in question comes back on, but not always. These are the spots for television advertising that you want. If you call your local stations, they can all quote you on price based on how many ads you want to run and how long you want them to be. They can also quote you a price to produce your advertisement if you want to have them help you with that as well.

Before you write your ad, think about what type of television advertising you want to do. Many local commercials in my area have a hint of humor, and they go over really well. It depends on your business though, as some things are just not humorous. If you have a funeral home, for example, you may not want to go with a television advertisement that is funny. Instead, you want serene, peaceful, and comforting. If you go with fun, don’t make it too corny though, as that is a turn off as well.

Make sure the talent used in your television advertisements is attractive. This does not mean you want to models in your ads. This means the people that you choose should look sincere, have a good aura about them, and should look natural in front of a camera. Looks are irrelevant as long as someone is pleasant to look at. Many people respond better to people that look like their neighbors, not fashion models. Local commercials work best with ‘real’ people. You can also decide you want to be in your ad, but make sure you feel at ease with it, or you will come across as stiff and unfriendly in your television advertising.

Run your ads on the right stations at the right times. Anyone producing or placing ads for you can tell you when these times may be. If you are selling something towards children, you want to get moms attention. She may be home during the day, so place your television advertising where she may see it midday. If you have a business that rents out construction materials, evening or weekend is best, as that is when those in construction may be more likely to be home watching television. Most stations that produce ads can guide you in the right direction when it comes to ad placement.

Choosing a Satellite TV Dish Provider

Posted on : 08-Jun-2010 | By : wpnetwork | In : Broadcasting, Cable, Programming, Satellite

Making the decision to leave cable and going with a satellite TV dish provider is a pretty big step. And once you decide to get a satellite dish you will then need to decide which dish provider to sign up with.

There are two major providers in the marketplace — DirectTV and Dish Network.

There are a lot of websites that try to compare the two services, but the problem you run into if you use one of these other websites is that they are often out of date. The cable and satellite TV industry is moving so fast, adding options and changing prices, that your best bet is to bypass these third-party websites and open up two windows in your browser and compare the options of each provider directly from its own website.

Once you decide upon which of the two providers you want to go with, you can always go back to your favorite search engine and search for a coupon or an introductory discount for that service.

Between the two satellite services, I have my favorite, but I think that which ever one you decide to go with, you’ll be pretty happy with.

A Helpful Guide To DVD Recorders

The Digital Versatile Disc (DVD) recorder is a recording system that runs like, and is akin in a lot of ways, to a VCR. DVD recorders register video on an inner disc within the DVD recorder, which is erasable and writable. They are capable to record from analogue video sources and in many instances from digital camcorders. The DVD recorder contains audio visual ports and may be used to record television shows with the use of the fitted TV tuner. The DVD recorder is offered in numerous compositions.

The recorders exist in three major types, the standalone DVD recorder, DVD/ Hard Drive unit, and mini-recorders. The standalone DVD recorder is employed in television and may be used to record programs. a lot of contain MPEG-4 compression that is operated for the real time compression of image data. Some enhancements found in some recorders will supply time based correctors and noise diminution functions. The mini DVD recorders will be positioned in digital camcorders. The DVD/Hard Drive units are employed in computers to write and read PC data and they supply writable and erasable media.

The standalone DVD recorder is not able to write or read data from a PC, but may record video in real time to a DVD disc. In order to join with a computer, a standalone DVD would have to have drivers installed, and that is not part of the organization of recorders. However, with the operation of certain software for PC video editing, some DVD video files that were fashioned on the PC, can be sent to some DVD recorders using a firewire interface. This is not a typical function for a DVD recorder, but if it is doable the information would be described in the operating guidebook.

DVD recorders are very effortless appliances to function even though they may have a complicated design. They use diverse recording systems, video and audio compression formats, assorted tuning choices and various broadcast norms. These recorders provide good sound reproduction and first-class picture properties. Recordings survive longer than those on magnetic tape, and they do not have to be rewound or fast forwarded, since they function through random access to the necessary video segment.

The recorded videos are effortlessly searched because of the presence of chapter menus. Loss of recording quality as an outcome of regular generation loss and repeated playbacks is kept to a bare minimum. If you are shopping for a DVD recorder, be sure to contrast prices, contrast the recording times that are backed the speed of the unit, and the option of creating several recordings at the same time. Other items to look for are the warranty period, and the image and sound properties. A Samsung tv could be the ideal way to watch all your films and recorded DVDs.

Britains Got Talent last year was dominated by Scottish singer Susan Boyle and we all know how well she has done. This years its another Scot making the news on BGT Lanarkshire grandmother, 81 year old Janey Cutler. She stunned judges at her audition in Glasgow by belting out Non Je Ne Regrette Rien the well know Edith Piaf song. I just watched the her semi final this evening June 3rd and her performance was even more magnificent. She brought the house down with her version of Shirley Basseys ‘My Life’ and had a standing ovation from judges Simon Cowell, Piers Morgan, Amanda Holden and the audience.

Needless to say she sailed through getting a majority from the voting public. A very clever and original dancing duo, ‘Twist and Pulse’ join her and eight other acts in Saturdays final.

Janey Cutler has sang in the local pubs and clubs around her home in Scotland for years and this success has come very late for this elegant lady. That said nothing seems to phase her, and judging from the thousands of views she has had on You Tube since she ht the headlines she is going to have a hectic year.

Can she win the Britains Got Talent final this week? After tonight’s performance the odds are shortening fast and she is now a contender for the top spot.

Reality TV Casting Seems So Arbitrary

1

Posted on : 31-May-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Reality TV

Earlier this year, a friend of mine went on a casting call for a popular reality television show. She had tried out for it once before and was turned down, and this year, she had a great story about why she wanted and deserved to be on the show.

Unfortunately, she was not selected and was kind of upset about it. She did say that one of the former contestants was at the casting call and told her that she had tried out seven times before she was accepted, and it got me to thinking that reality TV casting seems so arbitrary.

I understand that the very nature of selecting the right group of people to be on a reality show is subjective and can always be second-guessed, but I do wonder if the people who make those decisions have any sort of criteria they have to follow and why they select some of the people they do.

I watch the show that my friend was trying to get on, and there are times when I wonder what they were thinking when they selected a particular cast member. I don’t know if reality TV casting is done by different groups of people who go to different parts of the country and have different ideas of what they are looking for, but sometimes I think they really got it wrong.

Maybe it is just the fact that I really wanted my friend to get on this particular show. She is a big fan, and has wanted to get on it for years. She finally got up the courage to go and try out last year and was turned down, and then was turned down a second time this year. I do wish that I could go to the people who are doing the reality TV casting and speak on behalf of my friend, telling them all of the reasons that she would be a good contestant.

That would just embarrass her, though, and they would probably think that I was a nutcase. I asked her why it was so important to her that she actually be a contestant on the show rather than just watch it from home, and she told me that she really believes in what it stands for and feels like she would be a good fit. The group that did the casting, however, did not agree.

The reality TV casting crew did get her down for a while, but the good news is that the is already back on the horse and making plans to try out next year. She said she has been working on some new angles to try to get on the show, and said she will never quit trying to get on the show. I admire her determination, but my concern would always be that, since they already turned me down twice, what makes me think they would ever want me to be on the show, period?

New Rules and Sources For Viewing National Television

0

Posted on : 24-May-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Televisions

Television use to come into the home through an antenna that picked up the three major networks and a few other stations, if you were lucky. If you wanted to watch national television, you had to have a good antenna on your television or on the roof of your home. After that cable came along, and you didn’t always need the antenna any longer, though some still used them in rural areas up until recently when all television went to digital and a converter box became necessary as well. Thankfully, there are many different ways to get your television fix when you need it.

You can still get your national television shows through your local cable company. Cable now has hundreds of channels and also carries high definition channels for the newer television sets on the market. Cable also offers other options for watching movies and shows that you could not get just five or ten years ago. Your Internet connection may also come through your cable connection, depending on where you live. Cable comes in large and small packages, and can be put in any room in your home that you wish. Television can be anywhere you want it.

You can also get your national television shows through a satellite service. These are great if you want to save money, but there are some downfalls. Unlike cable, satellite television does tend to go out or have poor quality in bad weather. Some people simply can not get a good connection due to geography. However, if you can get a good, crisp signal, you can get national television shows through satellite at a great rate. You can get high definition channels through most carriers as well. Satellite is available in areas where there is no cable or very limited channels through local cable.

If you want to watch national television shows that are not current, you have the option of going through Netflix to see what you missed. In many cases, you can get entire seasons of your favorite shows from years past through Netflix through your television set. You can also order these through the mail as you would with other movies. Netflix also offers you some movies and other special national television programs through their instant and through the mail service. You can get this on your own or through X-Box Live if you wish. Other gaming services may offer the same thing.

The Internet is a great place to find some national television programming. Some soaps and other types of series offer that day or week of programming on their own web site. You can also find national television and international television shows through other online sources as well. If you have missed your shows and you forgot to record them, see if you can find them online. If you want to start a series all over again, chances are good that you can do that too. Not all series are offered this way, most of the popular ones end up being out on DVD, online, through Netflix, or as reruns on your cable or satellite service.

Elvis Presley Music is Still Thriving

0

Posted on : 22-May-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Music

I used to hang out at local ’50s themed restaurant that played what we refer to today as the oldies, music from the ’50s and ’60s. More than any other band or musician, Elvis Presley music seemed to play all the time.

I did not think much about this, because along with The Beatles, Elvis was probably the most famous and prolific rock-and-roll musician of that time period, but as I started paying more attention to the music being played at stores, malls and several other locations, I realized that Elvis Presley music is still thriving 50 years later.

The first time that I really experienced this phenomenon was when I went to Barnes & Noble one day, and I saw a little girl, probably not more than 12 or 13 years old, in the music department with headphones on, mouthing the words to “Heartbreak Hotel.” She seemed a little embarrassed when she looked up and saw me smiling, so I said, “You know that song?”

She laughed and said she loved Elvis Presley music and had several of his albums. She was buying one of his greatest hits CDs at Barnes & Noble, because she said that there were some songs on the CD that she did not have among her collection.

A few weeks later, I was taking my kids to a roller skating rink, where all of the kids seemed to be having a pretty good time, but were rather subdued. Then Elvis Presley’s song “Hounddog” started up, and all of the kids started whistling and cheering, and it just seemed like the speed of the rollerskating increased tremendously.

I grew up after the time of Elvis Presley’s prominance, and I was always a big fan, but I am a big music fan in general and was pretty unaware of how well his music has endured. It is not only something that you hear, either, but you can see it in cinema as well.

The first movies that come to mind for me when I think about Elvis Presley music are “Honeymoon in Vegas” and “3,000 Miles to Graceland.” I know that there are many more, but I saw those two movies were on the other day right around the same time, and what an interesting coincidence that was!

Elvis Presley music seems to play wherever I go thse days, and I can see that, even after all of these years, the “King” would be proud to know that his songs are played all the time and his music is still thriving. I guess there is a reason that Elvis Presley is from a genre of music often referred to as “classic rock,” because it never seems to go away.

List of Reality TV Shows that Don’t Suck

0

Posted on : 12-May-2010 | By : kliu888 | In : Reality TV

Let’s face it, Reality TV is generally horrible. MTV should change its name since it really does not show music videos anymore but instead has a long list of really bad reality shows like “Tool Academy”, “Bad Girl’s Club” and “From G’s to Gents” (which I actually like but still realize that it is horrible). Some of these bad shows are like watching a train wreck. It is hard sometimes to switch the stations. Other shows are so bad that they are easier to avoid like “The Karadashians” or “Real Housewives of Orange County” or “Jersey Shore”. Some shows are not even worth mentioning such as “The Surrreal World” and “I Love New York”.

But some reality TV is still compelling and the following titles are on my list of reality tv shows that don’t suck.

One of the best reality shows of all time is still “Survivor”. No matter where they dump off these people we are fascinated to watch as they live off of rice and fish (or sometimes bats and rats like James did with relish) for thirty days straight. The infighting is still real juicy and even after years the show still ranks high on the list of reality TV shows on the networks. When they go off to tribal council and someone gets blindsided, you realize that the trick is how the producers decide to edit the show. But as Eisenstein showed us many decades ago, every movie or TV show is created from whole cloth in the editing room.

Another in my short list of reality tv shows that don’t completely suck is the great and long running “American Idol”, which is arguably the best of the bunch. This is an amazing feat because in essence all it really is is a talent show with lots of production value and better contestants for the most part. The best part of the show each season is the very beginning when people line up for hours and hours to be heard by the panel. These “audition” shows are great because you get to hear the worst and funniest singing in the world. People are hilarious and it is because they are completely deluded. This is where you can see just how crazy the general public is and believe me, it is frightening. But, like bad karaoke, you can’t turn away from it or switch the channel. Once they get well into the show it usually becomes more boring, but the beginning is golden.

Although reality TV had been around in one form or another for many decades, it really gained momentum during the writer’s strike in the mid 1990s. The producers had to fill up air time and that gave us a few really good shows, and dozens more that were horrible beyond words. Let’s just hope that the writers stay on for a little while longer. On the other hand, I would much rather watch “Tila Tequila” than “CSI: Miami” any day of the week.

A Shoppers Guide To Buying A Television

Posted on : 07-May-2010 | By : Blognerd | In : Televisions

There are 2 critical things to contemplate when buying a brand new television. First, what specific size television are you wanting to buy, and secondly whether to obtain an LCD, Plasma or LED TV.

The first thing to ponder over is the specific size of the TV you are looking to acquire. These days most people are picking to acquire flat panel televisions; in spite of the fact that the older bulky models are still currently on sale in several department shops. The screen size is one of the most essential elements to consider when finding a TV. A twenty-two inch product may not be a sensible idea for a large living room; in contrast a 72″ product is probably a very bad choice for a smaller bedroom. What’s more, if you put fifty inch telly into a tiny room then the picture quality will certainly suffer. This is caused by the reality that large screens are not supposed to be watched up close. Another essential thing to contemplate is the screen ratio. Some favour 16:9 or wide screen, whereas others favour the 4:3 traditional viewing ratios. Find a diverse assortment of technology products such as; TVs, Plasma TVs and iPods from leading brands online.

As soon as you have chosen what specific size TV is suitable for you, you should chose what particular type of TV you want. The three most well-liked choices are LCD, Plasma, or LED. LCD televisions are one of the most well-liked choices. The recommended retail price of both LCD and Plasma TVs has lowered in the past several years. LED TVs in contrast are still pricey, although they are undoubtedly the most energy efficient choice around. LCD and Plasma televisions both have points for and against. Plasma televisions can only be obtained in sizes bigger than 42 inches, meaning that if you decide on a smaller telly then you should acquire an LCD or LED model. LCD televisions use substantially less energy than a similar spec plasma TV; however Plasmas have significantly better viewing angles. The quality may well vary depending on the brand of the unit. For example, a Sony LCD TV may well seem superior to a Samsung LCD; but Samsung Plasmas might look better than Sony Plasmas. The life span of both LCD and Plasma TVs is assumed to be in the region of 20 years. The RRP are almost identical, although recently Plasma models have appeared to be a touch cheaper.

TV quality can differ from make to make and by product size. Price also changes a great deal even within one size. Overall, the choice of a telly is an incredibly personal decision. The ideal way to get a TV is to evaluate the televisions next to each other.
